About Us
Derby Cathedral School, part of the Derby Diocesan Academy Trust (DDAT), is the first Church of England Secondary School in the Diocese. Since opening in 2018, we have grown into a thriving learning community, now accommodating over 1,200 students from Years 7 to 13. The Role
A fantastic opportunity for an enthusiastic and inspiring Internal Alternative Provision Lead to join Derby Cathedral School as it continues to grow in terms of numbers and success.
The successful candidate will have:
- Good quality Honours degree in a related subject
- PGCE or equivalent in secondary or primary education
- Qualified Teacher Status
- Ability to deliver elements of key curriculum areas

  • ability to deliver lessons in their core specialist subject up to GCSE level, using creative and exciting methods
  • have basic understanding around the rest of the curriculum as a whole, to deliver lessons where required
  • ability to promote and reinforce positivity and social development by providing students with access to a variety of resources and new methods of learning
  • ability to provide and support colleagues with creating targets for development / implementation to show the progress that individual students make academically
